This site is located in Oak Harbor, Washington. The site is a new one for EMP events, and will be debuted for use as the site of Crown War in August of 2019.

The site features ample onsite parking plus some overflow; lots of space for camping, common event space, fighting, merchants, archery, and other uses. There is a public-access beach nearby (but not connected with the site).

Essentials to Bring

  • Appropriate clothing/bedding: no heated spaces onsite. Bring appropriate garb and bedding for the time of year. Bring a contained fire pit if you desire some heat in the evenings.

  • Garbage bags and space to load them: No onsite garbage/dumpsters. Strict pack-it-in-pack-it-out / leave-no-trace rules. Bring bags for your garbage, and leave room in your vehicle to haul them home.

  • Lots of ice: no power onsite or refrigerators/freezers to keep perishable foods cold.

  • First aid and medical supplies

  • Power, if you need it: only power onsite is for emergency use only, not for general use or recharging. Bring a silent large-capacity power bank to power CPAP machines, phone chargers, or similar.

  • Personal light: the site gets dark and there is no onsite lighting. Bring a headlamp or flashlight, and spare batteries as needed.

  • Firewood if you plan to use a wood fire pit.

  • Propane and stove/fire pits if you need fire for cooking or heat in your camp.

  • Bug spray and/or bug repellent candles/torches (do not leave unattended) are recommended during the warm months.

  • Sun screen: the site does not have much natural shade, aside from the forest trails.

Site Rules

  • Dogs permitted, on-leash, with current rabies vaccination certificates.

  • Pack-it-in-pack-it-out / Leave No Trace. No onsite garbage or dumpsters. Take all trash out with you.

  • No illegal substances.

  • The site is an equine facility, so there are horses onsite. The site’s website states that you may bring your horses, but this is never permitted for EMP events due to the EMP’s insurance terms.

  • The site’s website also states a no-campfire rule. However for EMP events, we will be permitted to bring our own contained fire pits. No fire pits are provided onsite.
