Elder Futhark Runes 101

with Stigrúnr Vidarsson, 2:00pm-3:00pm at the Karma Legio community tent.

In this entry-level class, Stigr will be taking students through the twenty four runes of the Elder Futhark runes.  As an introductory course, it will focus on the basics needed to lay down the foundation to continued learning about the these runes.  The course will start with a brief discussion about the evolution of the more known and understood rune families that developed from the Elder Futhark, what these runes were and were not used for, familiarizing students with the symbols and their phonetic values, and providing visual mnemonics to aid in memorization.

Bring a chair and something to write with.

Knightly Fighting Series

The Cloven Fruit Game

Join us in learning the origins the rules of a game of flirtaciousness, consent, and kissing. You'll leave knowing how to start up your own game that will be certain to create a playful evening. Supplies will be provided. Intrigued? 18+ mature adults ONLY!!!

Intro to Herbal Medicine

Introduction to herbal medicine and nature walk. Attendees, please bring a coffee or tea cup and a something to sit on.

The Art of War (Paint)

with Ylva “Waffles” Twomey, 11:00am-12:00pm, at the Kingdom Bedouin.

This class is intended to introduce you to a variety of ceremonial, decorative, or battle painting techniques used by various cultures throughout history. After a brief lesson and demonstration, participants will be using class supplies to try painting on each other or themselves.

Class fee: $5

Viking Cap

Join us to make a simple wooden drop spindle that you can later paint and/or personalize. Then learn how to use it! $5 class fee.

Summertime Sigil Magic

with Bravery, 2:30pm-3:30pm, at the Kingdom Bedouin.

Embody intention through the creation and presentation of personal symbols. We'll gather together then head out on a nature walk to discuss the history and creation of Sigils, nature magiks associated with summer and create our Sigils with natural elements together. All welcome! Kids 13 and under MUST have an adult with them.

Cave Painting

with Seeker Joules, 5:30pm-6:30pm, at the Lowlands of Cascade Encampment.

Live model painting/drawing session with the Lowlanders of Cascadia. We will be providing models, 1 small canvas board per person, and access to paints. Bring your own drinks.

Class fee $5. Those who wish to bring their own paper and pencils/art supplies may attend without fee (still suggested).

Drop Spindle

Join us to make a simple wooden drop spindle that you can later paint and/or personalize. Then learn how to use it! $5 class fee.

Hair Adornment

with Jezebel, 3:00pm-4:00pm, at the al-Madeena Bedouin.

In this class we will be building your own custom hair accessories using silk flowers. I will show you how to create a clip, barrette, or headband that will embellish your costuming and last through many events.

Uno Bushcraft Basics

with Uno Lawspeaker, 4:00pm-5:00pm.

Uno Lawspeaker will take students through a series of cooking setups for both single-person cooking fires to feast cooking arrangement. This course will discuss making cooking tripods and racks from natural materials as well as the use and care of different types of cast-iron cookware.
